Mid afternoon on Tuesday, the box was sent for the reported building fire in the first due. As the Chief went en route with a visible column from a distance and reported entrapment, the box was quickly upgraded bringing additional units. Chief 20 arrived to find a three story duplex style residential converted into a multiple apartment building. A bystander was able to rescue the trapped occupant by a ladder prior to the fire department arriving. Units from 17 & 20 arrived and deployed multiple handlines making an aggressive interior attack on the fire while conducting searches. Mutual aid units arrived and assisted where needed. No injuries were reported and the American Red Cross is assisting the occupants of the building. During the incident, our transfer Company (Duncannon) along with other units handled a crash with fire on the Interstate, also in the first due.
